20th June marks the Summer Solstice for those in the Northern Hemisphere. 'Solstice' comes from the Latin sol (sun) and sistere (to stand still), which together makes a fitting word for ~Nodvikoff's Solaris, a piece that isn't just aptly titled solar, of the sun, but is also 'still' by its very form as a photograph.

I feel a deep sorrow being reflected from this image. A viewer could easily interpret this drawing in their own way which makes this a powerful piece despite the simplicity of it.

It was hard to pick one deviation from *MarjoleinTurin's gallery as it is filled with gorgeous pieces of Victorian-inspired clothing. Her choice of shape, fabric, colour and embellishment is impeccable and I think that 3 piece 2, dress, bustle, blouse, Somnia Romantica shows it.
